Celebrate Caribbean-American Heritage Month
Irvin Colbourne is an educator and community activist. He taught at the Antigua Girl’s High School for several years before immigrating to New York City. Irvin continued teaching while living in New York. Mr. Colbourne moved to Georgia when a teaching opportunity was presented to him.
Once Irvin Colbourne arrived in Georgia, He connected with the Antigua and Barbuda Association of Georgia (ABAG). Irvin was inspired by the work they were doing in Georgia and Antigua and Barbuda. Currently, Irvin Colbourne is the President of ABAG.
President Colbourne is continuing the legacy of the presidents who came before him. He has been upholding ABAG’s tradition of generosity, service, and unwavering commitment to Antiguans and Barbudans at home and abroad.
Irvin Colbourne was born in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, his parents are Irvin Colbourne Sr. from Freeman’s Village and Ethlyn Colbourne from Potters Village. He is married to Paulette Colbourne, the couple has three children, Covelle, Karin, and Kymoni.
