Sherriann K. Ogarro President of ASVRc

Sherriann Kesha Ogarro is a passionate educator, dynamic nonprofit leader, and dedicated advocate for educational equity and community empowerment. For the past 19 years, she has served as a committed teacher with the New York City Department of Education, where she has championed the needs of students with disabilities and supported inclusive learning environments.

Sherriann holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with minors in Communication and Black Studies from SUNY New Paltz, also earning a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as dual Master’s degrees in General and Special Education at the primary level. Her interdisciplinary education informs her holistic approach to teaching and leadership, blending pedagogy, policy, and purpose.

Deeply rooted in her Antiguan heritage, Sherriann serves as President of the All Saints Village Reunion Committee, a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and initiatives in Antigua. Under her leadership, the committee has launched impactful programs focused on educational access, food distribution, healthcare support, secondary school mentorship, and cultural reunification for the All Saints diaspora.

Sherriann’s work seamlessly bridges classroom innovation and grassroots activism. She has designed and implemented individualized learning plans, trained educators, and built strong collaborations with families and communities to ensure that all children—regardless of background or ability—receive the support they need to thrive.

Born in Antigua to Sharon Ogarro-Robinson and Kenneth James, both proud natives of All Saints Village, Sherriann is committed to preserving her heritage while forging new paths of opportunity for the next generation. She continues to be a tireless mentor, educator, and community builder, believing that sustainable change begins at the grassroots level and grows through unity, leadership, and love.
